I am Libran, a content creator with a passion for travel, history, culture, gaming,… And also: fairly random stuff. On my channels I focus on travel (LibranExplore); and gaming with (LibranLore)!
To me, these two channels are both sides of the same coin… I ike to travel both in real life and in computer games. Lore can be found everywhere and anywhere!
About me
“I am Libran. I like to explore. Let’s go!” Usually, I don’t offer much more in terms of an introduction to myself. Especially when on camera and time (and the average attention span) is short. You might find some bits and bops on my Discord server, in the intros channel. But other than that… This might just be the place to introduce myself a bit more thoroughly.
Currently I live in Belgium, where I work as a communications officer for an NGO. (I got my higher education in social & cultural work.) My free time is spent on travelling, gaming and friends.
These past few years I visited quite a few places. During my travels I passed by Japan, London, Paris, Brussels, Barcelona, Venezia and more… During these trips, I get the most of my enjoyment out of visits to museums, historic places and temples, random walks through local neighbourhoods and parks, and trying out local food.
I speak mainly English and Dutch, as well as some French and a little German. (The very little words of travel Japanese, Spanish, Italian,… are hardly worth the mention, but they do help me out, too!)
My favourite games are RPG’s, simulators, sandboxes, city builders and the likes. My vibe is cosy and casual. As of late I am also starting to enjoy some rogue-lites and platformers. (Oh and… Those RPG’s include TTRPG’s too! I am both player and GM/DM.)
Other hobbies include reading, writing and doom scrolling. And in between all that I try to make enough time for a decent social life as well. (My apologies to all my friends and family members that are deserving of a bigger chunk of my time! <3 )
For those who want to get to know me better, still, I will once again refer to the Discord server. Come say hi, have a chat or drop in on an impromptu voice call. I also stream regularly on Twitch. I love nothing more than interacting with the people in chat. So don’t be a stranger and drop me a line!

Gaming on Twitch
We can’t always be traveling the high sea! For all those days in between we stream games on Twitch. You are welcome to tag along for the ride!
We usually start around 20:00 CE(S)T. Backseat gaming is very much alowed.

Travel: Why do I Explore?
My friends used to laugh about how I should do something with all the travel information I have gathered over the years. I was sitting on mountains and mountains of clips, Instagram lists, and semi-organised note systems. I had even went as far as tagging and providing images and… Well. It was a lot. But it was also just sitting there, on my computer?
I think it really started during the preparations to a trip we would make to Japan in 2025… I was anxious about the fact that I notices some huge gaps in my base knowledge when prepping my usual ‘what can we visit’-lists. I did not know what to look for in Buddhist temples, or what the difference was between Zen, Pure Land, or any other sect. Heck, I barely knew the difference between temples and shrines! Was I ready to explore and to appreciate the things that I would visit fully?
Of course: not knowing is part of the experience. But the itch remained, even after visiting the many beautiful sights of Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara and Osaka. I wanted to know more. So I started doing more and more research. The mountain of information in my system grew and grew and… And now I want to share what I learned.
My goal is to offer a deeper understanding that goes beyond the usual listicles. Since I am most interested in the history, religion and cultural aspects of the places I visit, that’s also where my own focus lies when writing. Together we look beyond the surface level travel tips and ‘hidden’ gems.

Gaming: What’s that about Lore?
Travelling is something that can be done in the real world, sure! But life has more to offer. So every now and than we travel together. We visit valleys with farms, explore the depths of blue lakes, we mine and we craft, we ascend spires to visit architects or to learn a new language.
My Twitch channel is also where I interact with our community and it offers me a way to keep practising my English. I truly enjoy playing games with all of you. My focus does shift away from my channel, from time to time. But I usually stream 2-3 evenings per week.
